A pristine treasure in the east coast of Malaysia that waits to be explored...- Exploring Tioman Island In 24 Hours
There were only two ferry trips from Mersing to Tioman Island on Malaysia Day (16th September) – 7am and 11:30am. The reason, apparently, is because unfavourable tidal range at certain times causes the river mouth to be too shallow for ferries to leave the jetty. Bluewater Express is the only ferry service from Mersing to Tioman Island, which we’d purchased through the internet for RM70 for a roundtrip.
Coffee Roasted Chestnuts
Back in the old days in Malaysia, the closest thing to “chestnuts roasting on an open fire” were street vendors frying chestnuts with coffee beans in huge woks. The aroma of coffee and sweet chestnuts permeated the cooler evening air drew in the crowd. These warm fragrant Coffee Roasted Chestnuts were such a treat and continues to be so till this day.
